IVO vBlade PC™ Overview

The IVO vBlade PC™ Series of dedicated personal virtual blades for Personal Utility Computing centralizes desktop compute, applications, and storage resources into the data center while providing users with the familiar personal computing experience they have grown accustomed to.  The IVO vBlade PC dedicated personal virtual blade solution and the vTelecomputing shared-computing solution both serve to provide a Personal Utility Computing solution that offers increased manageability, security, and agility while delivering TCO savings.

Compared to the vTelecomputing shared-computing environment, the IVO vBlade PC represents the second lowest TCO available in the industry for personal computing.  The vBlade PC dedicated computing environment is reserved for those select individuals in your organization that require applications not appropriate for either a shared-computing environment or require a dedicated operating environment.

Security is Enhanced

With the IVO vBlade PC solution, security related to both internal and external users is greatly enhanced.  Sensitive data is effectively removed from the local user access device and reduces many of the risks associated with traditional distributed desktop environments.  Accountability for anti-virus and data protection is moved to the data center, and, as a result, theft, data loss, malfeasance, and non-compliance with software licensing terms can decrease.  Users are no longer responsible for administration related tasks like software installation, configuration, backups, and patch-management.  This becomes especially true for environments with widely dispersed traditional desktop deployments and supporting home PC users.  This approach ensures better privacy controls on both the customer and corporate data.

Desktop Environment Consolidation

The IVO vBlade PC does not require a vBlade for each user.  The number of vBlades is derived based on concurrent need.  Today, it is common for large numbers of desktop PC assets to sit idle.  Because of the virtualized nature of the vBlade PC and the ability to operate on a check-in/check-out basis, organizations can reduce the number of overall PC related hardware assets they have to own and manage.  The virtualization capabilities of the vBlade make that management all the more simpler  IVO vBlade PC's support MS Windows XP Pro and can dynamically configure your users personalized operating environment to run the applications they require and are properly authorized and licensed to do so.
